Herne Bay and neighbouring Whitstable boast many excellent restaurants and pubs all within easy walking distance and we are renowned for our locally caught fish and chips. It has both a welcoming and diverse community, friendly locals and a strong sense of pride that overflows into the clean streets, blue flag beaches and tourist attractions.

Herne Bay itself is very popular for water sports, jet skiing, wind surfing, and sailing and is also suitable for swimming and excellent fishing. Herne Bay has also recently been awarded a blue flag for its excellent beaches. The town excels itself for walking and cylicng holidays enabling you to visit nearby Whitstable to savour the many restaurants, bars and fish harbour.

Herne Bay is in close proximity of the City of Canterbury and offers the opportunity of visiting many seaside resors and the Thanet coast line which boasts a wide diversity of birdlife and nesting colonies, and skylarks at nearby Reculver. Herne Bay is surrounded by many grand houses, cathedrals, and Norman Churches including traditional gardens that open to the public. We have many craft and antique fairs throughtout the season including open air art exhibitions and markets often on the seafront.

We are proud of our beautiful seafront with immaculately kept flowerbeds and colourful beach huts.
